1) What could I or my organisation do with a Wiki at a conference? How would I use it? Would my participants participate?

  1. Speaker Feedback (from or about speakers?)
  2. Suggestions for future sessions
  3. Communuicate late changes

  6. Post Presentations for post conference usage
  7. General evaluation
  8. More dynamic than the classic suggestion box
  9. Offering an incentive for their participation would increase involvement

2) What objectives for participants did you support at a conference with technology and how?

  1. .Blogs. Used to encourage attendee and non attendee engagement
  2. .CD Roms of presentations for attendees to take away
  3. .Community building software (e.g Sharepoint). Used both pre and post conference to agree agenda and measure outcomes
  4. .Webchat software
  5. .Online registration, accommodation booking and online payment of services
  6. .Discussing original ideas with a kind of blog and having final outcomes; decisions such as next congress destination are taken during this discusssion.
  7. .Powerpoint presentations are being uploaded with sound so as people that did not manage to attend can see-read and hear the presentation for the next 3 months.

  1. .Can't talk at them have to talk with them
  2. .Use You Tube - use technology they understand and relate to and use
  3. .Ask them to show you, interact and communicate with them
  4. .Short attention span, need to keep them moving
  5. .Speak in their language, even if it's not proper grammar
  6. .Learn how to listen to them
  7. .Use imaginative ideas to get the message across to them - images and pictures instead of words
  8. will they participate at congresses?
  9. will they travel to congresses - they can learn through the internet
  10. they are losing the emotional and affective aspects, although they are technology savvy

  2. Appointments tools for participants, and very few people used it
  3. Online Discussion Forums for conference commmittees, never used
  4. Technology demonstrations failing on stage
